GREELEY, Colo., June 24, 2020 – In partnership with The Nashville Food Project, JBS USA, an American-based food company, seeks to reignite a passion for food and unite beef lovers in an effort to promote food accessibility in the Nashville community.
On June 26, JBS USA will be donating 1,752 pounds of lean ground beef to The Nashville Food Project, which equates to over 4,000 meals for those in need.
“The Nashville Food Project’s work to share delicious, nutritious food in our community is more important now than ever. Even before the Covid-19 pandemic, one in seven Nashvillians did not have access to enough food to maintain and healthy life, and that need has only grown,” said Teri Sloan, The Nashville Food Project development director. “Partnering with JBS USA’s Beefitarian campaign will provide a critical source of protein to share in our meals, helping us to connect even more people to the nutritious food they need.”
“We are proud to partner with The Nashville Food Project and provide nourishing food and resources to the local community,” said Trevlyn Carson, Brand Maganer, JBS USA Beef. “With this donation, we hope to join in its goal of cultivating community and alleviating hunger in the Nashville community.”
The donation is being made in celebration of JBS USA’s launch of its “Beefitarian” campaign geared toward promoting the nutritional benefits of beef and invigorating families to explore it in new ways.
In continuation of Beefitarian’s partnership with the Nashville Food Project, JBS USA will host a Burger and Beats contest this summer where selected Nashvillians will create a burger recipe inspired by local music, which will be voted on by members of the community. Each vote will generate an additional monetary donation to The Nashville Food Project. More details will be announced at a later date.
“We are calling all beefitarians in Nashville to come together in support of food, music and community,” said Carson. “Beefitarian not only aims to inspire foodies to explore new recipes and cuts of beef, but also to share the nutritional benefits of beef with those most in need in their own communities.”
