NashvilleEats is the largest food Instagram in Nashville, sharing Music City’s top spots for the most food-porn worthy meals. Co-founders Marisa Goldstein and Ari Richman started the page in 2014 over a love of food and craving for Nashville’s best eats. Speaking of cravings, their #burgersandbeats recipe submission is a delicious sirloin burger sure to make your mouth water. It’s inspired by Thomas Rhett’s ‘Craving You’ because, let’s be honest, how can you not crave an onion and mushroom filled burger topped with balsamic mayo and a perfect slice of Swiss cheese?
‘Craving You’ Sirloin Burger
Total Time: 20 Minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped shitake mushrooms
1 1/3 lbs ground sirloin
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, eyeball the amount
Coarse salt and pepper
Extra-virgin olive oil, for the pan
4 sesame rolls
4 slices Swiss cheese
3 tbsp aged Balsamic vinegar, eyeball the amount
1/2 cup mayonnaise or reduced fat mayonnaise
Coarse black pepper
Instructions
Combine meat with chopped onions and mushrooms, add Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper. Form 4 large patties. Push in the center of the patties to keep them flat while cooking. Drizzle pan with a touch of extra-virgin olive oil.
Lightly toast your rolls, then add burgers to the pan. Pan-fry burgers ~4 minutes on each side for medium-well doneness.
Combine balsamic, mayonnaise and coarse cracked black pepper in a small dish.
Just before you are ready to take them out of the pan, place Swiss cheese slice on top of patties. Cover with lid and turn off heat under pan. Allow the cheese to begin to melt down, about 2 minutes.
To assemble, slather bottoms of buns with balsamic black pepper mayonnaise, then place burgers on top.
Enjoy!
